We created Chai as our ultimate sweet and spicy chai tea after a large portion of our customers told us that our Indian Spice wasn't exactly what they were looking for in a chai tea. This blend features black tea from India, cardamom seeds, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and natural cardamom and vanilla flavors.

When making green tea, the Japanese ensure that nothing is wasted. The tea stalks, which might be discarded in other tea regions, have been harnessed to make a pleasant tea. Since it is made from the stems and twigs of the tea plant, there is less caffeine, amino acids, and antioxidants to give flavor and added benefits to the brew. This tea has gained an ardent following in Japan, where it is enjoyed for its mellow flavor and low caffeine levels. It is also used in macrobiotic diets.

Imperial Windsor is a blend that we have done for the Royal St. George Society. The RSGS is a patriotic society in England. Roses are one of the many symbols of England, and so this strong black tea has rose petals sprinkled throughout. 10% of sales will help fund the Society’s good work.

Please note: The rose petals add a little floral flavor. This is a nice strong breakfast tea.

Amba Estate sits in the hills of central Sri Lanka, an old tea garden that Simon Bell and his partners have restored as an experiment in rejuvenating Sri Lankan tea making. We visited Amba and came away convinced it's a little gem. The estate is worked by a group of Sri Lankan men and women who make genuinely unusual teas by hand, hand-rolling the leaves in a way that yields a lighter, big-leaf cup. That handwork carries a mission, too: Amba is committed to empowering women in the tea industry, and your purchase helps support the livelihoods of the people who craft it. We buy a variety of teas from them, and we're proud to offer this one, made responsibly and with real care for the local community.

For centuries, Chaga mushrooms have been used in supplements to provide rich antioxidants and naturally boost immunity. We combined wild-grown Canadian Chaga with other powerful adaptogens like Ashwagandha root and crafted a new herbal infusion. The result is an earthy, toasty blend that is perfect for a moment of self-care. It brews up into a dark, earthy-tasting cup.

This is the cream of the crop. It is a ceremonial matcha reserved for special ceremonies. This tea is grown along the banks of the Uji River, where the soil is rich. The tea plants are deeply shaded. The leaves are hand-picked while still young. Since it's only harvested once a season, the tea plant has the rest of the year to build up and make the best matcha next season. This cycle creates maximum umami levels. The tea is air-dried and ground by traditional stone mills.

The Nilgiri Mountains rise from the tropical plains of southern India into something altogether different. Though the region sits squarely in the tropics, the elevation brings cold nights, and it is in these colder months that Havakai Frost Tea is made. The tea plants grow slowly in the chill, concentrating their flavor in a way that the warmer seasons simply cannot replicate. The leaves are highly withered and only lightly oxidized, a process that preserves the tea's bright, aromatic character and produces those striking green flecks among the long, twisted brown leaves. The result is a cup that will surprise anyone who thinks of Indian black tea as exclusively bold and malty. Havakai Frost is brisk and citrusy, with a tropical fruit aroma that gives way to a drier, more grapefruit-like finish. If you enjoy the bright, floral qualities of a first flush Darjeeling, this tea offers a similar elegance from a very different corner of India.

This tea is made in Northern Taiwan and is twisted (as opposed to the balled style). It is harvested around June, which is later than other oolongs. The growers allow a leaf hopper (Jacobiasca formosana) to attack the tea leaves. The plants release a compound in self-defense that we find deliciously similar in flavor to peaches. Mike saw the plants on the defensive on a trip to Taiwan; he found it fascinating to observe this remarkable botanical process.

In college, workdays, and beyond, there are times we have to burn the midnight oil, pull an allnighter, and find ourselves needing more caffeine than black tea yields. To keep everyone going stronger (and a bit longer), Mike created Yerba Mate Licorice, a blend of two highly caffeinated herbals, Yerba Mate and Guayusa, with a bit of licorice to make it taste great. Sure to stimulate you as you work the night away!

Chrysanthemum has been enjoyed as a caffeine-free tisane in China for centuries, prized as much for its bright golden blooms as for the cup they make. This one comes from Anhui Province in central China, a region with a long reputation for cultivating chrysanthemum among its many teas and botanicals. The large, showy blossoms were the reason we bought it: they look almost regal, which is how this tisane earned its name. Being an herbal, it has no caffeine at all, making it a fitting choice for the evening or any time you want a floral cup without the lift.

If Keemuns are the aristocrats of Chinese black teas, Yunnan black teas could be considered the frugal yet happy cousins from another region. Earthy and almost assertive, Yunnan teas have a maple sweetness that wins you over with charm. Typical of many Yunnan teas, Yunnan Golden Tips features a mixture of dull gold buds and black leaves (also known as Dianhong).
